Battleground Kickoff Classic Saturday in Columbus

The first weekend of Georgia High School football is officially here, and what better way to begin the season then a three-game all-day event featuring some of the best teams in the state’s smallest, private school classification. Saturday, August 23rd the inaugural Battleground Kickoff Classic will take place at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Georgia.  All games will be streamed LIVE on the NFHS Network.

Alaska First to Begin 2014 Football Season

The NFHS Network will kick off its live coverage of the 2014-15 high school football season this weekend in Alaska with the first regular season games to be played anywhere in the United States.  The season begins earlier in Alaska due to the extreme weather conditions that begin as early as October.

Spring Jubilee to Showcase Virginia Championships

This weekend the Virginia High School League spring championships culminate in a spectacular two-day span of sporting events coined Spring Jubilee.  By end of day Saturday, boys and girls in groups 1A-6A will be crowned state champions in baseball, soccer, softball, lacrosse and tennis.

Holiday Hoops Tourneys Don’t Disappoint

While schools were closed, the NFHS Network was privileged to cover several outstanding holiday basketball tournaments that featured a great mix of ranked teams and big-name talent.  A few of the senior standouts who will soon be household names at the D-1 level next year are Gaffney High’s (South Carolina) L.J. Peak, Wesleyan Christian Academy’s (North Carolina) Theo Pinson, Effingham County High’s (Georgia) JaKeenan Gant and Duncanville High’s (Texas) Ariel Atkins.  Each one put on display their innate ability to take over the game.  Please do yourself a favor and check out these highlight compilation videos of electrifying dunks and buzzer beater finishes from all of our  holiday hoops coverage!
