Nation’s Top-Ranked Football Team in Nevada State Championship Game

With the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountain range as the backdrop and Lake Tahoe nearby, this Saturday 11-3 Sparks Reed High School will meet 14-0 Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High School for the 2014 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) Division I state championship. The game will be played at Damonte Ranch High School in Reno.

Historic 100th Meeting Between Alabama Football Teams Shapes Up as a Classic

In what has been touted as “The 100-Year Game” and the “Rivalry of the Century,” this Friday Guntersville High School (9-0) will visit Albertville High School (4-4), marking the 100th time that these two Alabama football teams have met.

Large-School Football Championship Slated in the Last Frontier

At 6:15 p.m. Friday, the crème de la crème of large-enrollment Alaska football will converge on Anchorage Football Stadium for the 2014 Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) First National Bowl Large School state championship.

In that game, cross-town rivals South Anchorage and West Anchorage will wage a physical battle for the right to hoist the ASAA title trophy.  Both South and West are members of the Cook Inlet Conference.

Central Illinois Gridiron Matchup is Slice of Small-Town America

This Friday, two neighboring Illinois football teams sporting glittering win-loss records and many commonalities will meet in a pivotal game.

In that contest, Athens/Greenview (6-1) will visit Williamsville (7-0) in what appears to be a very evenly matched Sangamo Conference game.
